Our Story
A Diboll institution since 1956

Our Story
Since 1956
The first Pine Bough Restaurant opened its doors on June 17, 1956, built and run by Temple Industries as a place for Diboll to gather over a good meal. For years it was where the community met, celebrated, and lingered over coffee.
In 2026 we brought the name back to life on the mezzanine of Rice Brothers Business Park, the former Temple-Inland headquarters. Same spirit, same welcome, same from-scratch cooking that made the original a Diboll institution.
A Little History
Familiar Faces on the Wall
The original Pine Bough drew visitors from well beyond East Texas, including boxing champion Jack Dempsey and actress Bette Davis. Vintage photographs of guests like these line our walls, a reminder of the restaurant's place in Diboll's history. Come take a look while you wait for your plate.
The Patio
Under the Pines
Step outside and you would never guess Highway 59 runs nearby. Our patio sits tucked among tall East Texas pines, a quiet, shaded spot for lunch on a nice day.
